1. Take Action

The first step to getting in shape is just to take action and get yourself moving. Often this is the hardest part. Make up your mind to start exercising and start. Go to the gym, go for walks, or just spend 15 minutes going up and down the stairs in the morning, taking breaks when you get out of breath. Keep in mind that some exercise is always better than none. Even if you can only do 15 minutes three times per week, start doing it on a regular schedule and stick to that schedule.

2. Focus On Your Core

Core Training has become all the rage, and for good reason. Your core is the key to every move you make. Plus, a well developed set of abs is the hallmark of a fit body. But core training doesn’t just mean blasting your abs with sit ups. Check out our Core Training Tutorial to learn more.

3. Build Exercise into your Daily Routine

Start parking further away from your office, take the stairs whenever you can, walk the first 15 minutes of your lunch break, you get the idea. The human body is designed to be in motion. Try to move around for at least five minutes every 90 to 120 minutes. Get up and walk the long way to the bathroom, go up a few flights of stairs, or pop outside to run an errand. Get creative about finding ways to work more movement into your day.
