Eliminating Food Allergy Tutorial

Even if you are allergic to milk, the odds are that you’ll be able to tolerate yogurt and some cheeses, so you won't have to give up all dairy products. We’ll provide more advice on this below. If you don’t react to milk, keep reintroducing banned foods one at a time, separated by three or four days, until you figure out which ones you are allergic to. Try wheat after milk, soy after wheat, and sugar last of all. As for food dyes, preservatives, trans fats, MSG, and other artificial food additives, it's best to avoid these completely. These chemicals compromise everyone’s health, whether you are allergic to them or not.

When and if you do have a noticeable reaction to one of the foods you reintroduce, you’ll want to wait until all of the symptoms have died down before reintroducing another food. This usually takes 3-5 days. So if milk causes a flair-up of indigestion, go back on the original hypoallergenic diet for 3-5 days before eating a bit of wheat.

The hypoallergenic diet, and a summary of which foods you should reintroduce when, is outlined below. In terms of what you should be eating while on your hypoallergenic diet, follow the guidelines laid down in Simple Enjoyable Healthy Eating and Choosing Healthy Food, or the diet included with your free ReEvolution Fitness Action Plan, modified according to the guidelines below.

Food allergies are an incredibly wide-spread problem (mostly because there are so many processed, unnatural foods in our diets) and most people find that they feel better and have more energy after two weeks on a hypoallergenic diet. If you do determine that you have an allergy to a specific food, the odds are that if you stop eating that food and heal the lining of your gut (see Dealing with Candida, as getting rid of Candida is also a necessity for your gut to heal), you’ll be able to resume eating it in moderation after 6 months or so. Your immune system will calm down and stop overreacting. It can be a bit of a hassle following a hypoallergenic diet for two weeks, but the benefits of identifying and eliminating food allergies can last a lifetime.

If you’d like to try our food allergy elimination program, we recommend that you only do it after you’ve committed to eating more healthfully in general for 2 or 3 months. Food habits are tough to break, and if you’ve been eating a lot of junk food for years, and you suddenly decide to eliminate all of it and switch to a hypoallergenic diet, it’s going to be tough to stay on course. Even if you make it through the first few weeks, identify your allergy trigger foods, and commit to eliminating them, you’ll probably find it hard to stay away from processed foods laden with sugar and other artificial chemicals. Sugary, chemical laden foods always create inflammation, which exacerbates food allergies. Continuing to eat sugar and artificial chemicals makes it very hard to eliminate any specific food allergy, meaning that if you are allergic to wheat or diary or eggs, you’ll stay allergic even if you avoid these foods completely as long as you continue eating sugar and preservatives.

In addiiton, if you eat a lot of junk food and suddenly stop, you may experience withdrawl symptoms (headaches, fatigue, intense cravings) and actually feel worse on a hypoallergenic diet as a result. If you suspect that you may have food allergies, but have been on a very unhealthy diet for a long time and want to begin making changes, sign up for your ReEvolution Fitness Action Plan, and experiment with the personalized diet we give you. After a few months of healthier eating, come back and try the food allergy elimination program to boost your health to a new level.
