1. Recognize That You Have More Control Over Your Emotions Than You Think

Often the way we feel seems out of our hands. But armed with the right understanding, each of us can exert as much control over our emotions as we can over the shape and form of our bodies (and if you’re thinking that you can’t control the shape and form of your body at all, please read the rest of this site!). Often times, knowing that we can take control is the first step in change.

2. Start to Think Differently About Nutrition, Exercise, and Sleep

   Nutrition, exercise, and sleep aren’t just things you have to pay attention to because if you don’t, weight gain and disease lie in your future; they are actually critical parts of living a happy life. You’ll be surprised how much more motivated you are to exercise, eat well, and get enough sleep once you’ve done these things for a few weeks and seen the pay off in terms of the way you feel.

3. Try to view negative events as challenges to be overcome.

 Life will not always work out the way that we want. But when we allow negative events to create a negative mind set, we only pave the way to more disappointment.  Nothing worthwhile is ever achieved without struggle, and growth is impossible without challenges to overcome. People repeat these cliches` so often because they are true! Viewing the hurdles that pop up in our lives in this light keeps us focused on our goals, and paves the way to a positive mind set.
